** Rider of the month - Stuart Walker (Wyre Forest CRC) **
Greatest increase in Rankings points - up 45 points

There were four counting events in September and one hill-climb in October which we have wrapped up together for the final rankings update of the season. The events were the Leamington C&AC 10 on the Thurlaston-Ryton course, the Worcester St. John’s CC 25 on the Alcester course, the Coventry RC 10 on the Princethorpe course and the VC Sevale (Malvern) 10 on the Severn Stoke course. Finally the season in the Midlands came to a close with the Shelsley Walsh Hill-Climb promoted by the hard-working Worcester St. John’s CC.

For the first time in the history of the rankings we have two riders who have increased their points scores equally by 45 points for the best improvement in the district in September/October. However, on countback to August Stuart Walker of Wyre Forest CRC is declared the rider of the month and wins a free massage from Sam Boswell of SBR Sports Massage. Well done also to Andy Morgan of Coventry RC who also gained 45 points but did not progress as much as Stuart in August.

Many congratulations to the following riders who have been promoted up to a new category for the first time thanks to their improved performances in September and October:

  • Stuart Walker (Wyre Forest CRC), 2nd cat
  • Lewis Jones (Rugby RCC), 2nd cat
  • Jon Howard (Wyre Forest CRC), 1st cat
  • Stephen Vanes (Wyre Forest CRC), Elite.

Each month riders appear in the categories for the first time when they initially complete five counting events. Well done to the following riders who have appeared for the first time in the categories above 4th-cat:

  • Jonathan Wears (Team Jewson) – 1st Cat
  • Simon Garrett (Worcester St. John’s CC) – 2nd Cat

We now have an online home for discussing time trials in the Midlands District – make sure you are a member of this Facebook group  and join in the discussion about what’s going on.

Also, if you don’t appear in the age-category rankings it is because we do not have your date of birth in the database of riders. Kindly drop us a message to let us know your date of birth so we can amend that

Well done to all riders on their successes and progress.
